The decarbonisation of industrial processes will be fundamental to the UK achieving its net zero ambitions. It will require the establishment and scaling of new infrastructure segments at a pace never seen before, presenting both a challenge and opportunity for traditional industrial and energy players, new market participants and investors. 
The UK Government has set out its indicative roadmap for industrial decarbonisation, placing a particular focus on the role for CCUS and hydrogen alongside other policies. In this note, the A&O PENRI practice looks at key themes from the UK Industrial Decarbonisation Strategy, the latest developments in the deployment of CCUS envisaged under it  and what to look out for in the mass of upcoming materials expected from the UK Government in the 6 months to COP26.
