Over the last 30 years Allen & Overy has been supporting clients doing business in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and by delivering full-service expertise in the region.

The growing potential of CIS countries and a business-friendly climate for investment opportunities have attracted leading market players to the region and expanded access to international markets for local companies.

To satisfy our clients’ needs in this market, we have created a CIS hub in Dubai with Russian, English and U.S. law capabilities on the ground and with CIS-experienced lawyers. They have expertise in areas ranging from major bank financings (including acquisition, structured asset finance, trade, real estate and project finance), securitisation, bond issues and IPOs to cross-border mergers and acquisitions, derivatives, restructuring and insolvency and dispute resolution, including international arbitration. We act for both multi-national and local clients, including banks, manufacturers, transportation, TMT and energy and natural resources companies, to develop their business within the region and across the world.

The CIS team delivers coordinated legal advice to clients and has strong relationships with local counsel – we have all capabilities to support businesses across a broad range of transactions.

Our CIS Desk is supported by offices across our international network, particularly in Dubai, London, Frankfurt, Milan, Brussels, Amsterdam, Luxembourg, Tokyo, New York and Central and Eastern Europe.
