Allen & Overy advises Riverside on acquisition of BioDue

Allen & Overy has advised global private equity fund The Riverside Company on the agreement to acquire BioDue, an Italian company specialised in the development, manufacturing and commercialisation of food supplements, medical devices and cosmetics. BioDue’s top managers have reinvested in BioDue along with Riverside. Closing is subject to customary approvals by the competent regulatory authorities.

Founded in 1986 by the Benedetti family, BioDue is one of the leading dietary supplements and medical devices companies in Italy, producing niche formulas for third parties, with a focus on the liquids, probiotic, respiratory and gastrointestinal segments as well as own brand products in various therapeutic areas including dermatology, ophthalmology, aesthetics, orthopedics and gynecology. Production is managed through two cutting-edge hubs – located in Florence and Bergamo – and by applying innovative technologies. BioDue works for over 1,000 national and international customers, including some of the largest pharmaceutical and nutraceutical companies in Europe, and provides a full-service offering, ranging from raw material sourcing development and formulation, production, packaging and regulatory affairs, to commercialisation.
