International Women's Day and Women's History Month 2024
Together. We’re all in inspiring equity & Inclusion.
In March 2024 we are celebrating the stories of impact our people are having on women and girls outside the firm as well as our women alumni who are role models in inspiring inclusion.
The impact being made supports the ambitions of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day to forge a better, more inclusive world for women and girls, ensuring that no one is excluded from opportunity.
Social impact
We work on a wide variety of social impact and community investment projects, with the main areas of focus being access to justice, social finance, education and employment. This work supports our responsibility to help build a fair and equitable society, as well as our commitment to our people, culture, clients and the wider legal sector. Find out more here

Our staff play a huge part in our social impact work. With their involvement, we provide support to people all over the world. Regardless of their role or seniority, staff have the chance to work with different teams within A&O or alongside the charitable organisations we partner with. For example, a team of volunteers supported a Dress for Success Career Development Day, where women benefit from a focused day full of expertise that includes interview skills, CV review, career mapping and panel experts. Dress for Success provides support to women to help them thrive in employment and in their communities. Its services include providing clothing for interviews and employment, preparation for interviews and on-going support.

Women for Women International is our global charity partner. Women for Women International helps women survivors of war in 17 conflict-affected countries to rebuild their lives. Together we are creating a ripple effect of change, transforming the lives of women survivors of war and their communities for generations to come. Find out more here
Of the women who leave the firm many go on to be role models and creators of opportunities which include those for women. They are role models and changemakers in the legal sector, champions for equity and inclusion for women and girls and leaders in philanthropic causes which benefit women and girls. You’ll find many featured in our Alumni Yearbooks here
