In this session, we explored the UK-Switzerland mutual recognition agreement (MRA) signed in December.
The UK government describes the MRA as “a ground-breaking pact on financial services cooperation” enabling “the frictionless, cross-border provision of financial services between the UK and Switzerland”. We analysed what the MRA will mean practically for UK firms accessing Switzerland and vice versa, and assessed mutual recognition as a mechanism to deepen the UK’s financial markets.
