Measures to facilitate holding of meetings in commercial companies extended until 31 December 2020

While the Covid-19 outbreak continues to have an impact on the good governance of companies, the Luxembourg legislator has decided to extend the measures provided for by the law of 20 June 2020 that were due to expire on 30 September 2020 until 31 December 2020. A new law dated 23 September 2020 will enter into force to that effect on 1 October 2020.

As such companies continue to be allowed to hold their general shareholder meetings and board/management meetings virtually without physical presence notwithstanding any provisions to the contrary in the articles of association until the end of the year.
