Sarah is a partner based in Allen & Overy’s Bangkok office. Sarah specialises in project finance transactions in the power and infrastructure sectors across ASEAN and the wider Asia-Pacific region. She has acted for major international commercial and institutional lenders and sponsors, and regularly negotiates concession agreements and power purchase agreements with governments and state-owned enterprises in Myanmar, Laos and Thailand. Sarah is known as an emerging market specialist and has advised on many 'market firsts' in this context, most recently in Myanmar and Laos. She also regularly advises on large-scale cross-border transactions.
While Sarah is based in Bangkok, she regularly advises on transactions across the wider region and, by way of example, is currently advising on financings in Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Cambodia, India and Vietnam. Prior to joining the Bangkok office 8 years ago, Sarah was part of Allen & Overy’s Structured and Asset Finance team in London, which she joined in 2009.
Sarah is consistently recognised and ranked by leading legal directories for both the Thailand and Lao markets. This includes being ranked in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2019 as an 'Up and Coming' individual for Projects & Energy in Thailand and as an 'Up and Coming' individual for Laos as a foreign expert based in Thailand, with the directory noting that she is a "very high-calibre" lawyer who is "hard-working and responsive." Sarah is also ranked as a 'Next Generation Lawyer' in The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific for both Projects & Energy and Banking & Finance in Thailand.
