Marieke advises and represents clients in high-stakes commercial litigation and arbitration. Her practice covers the full range of dispute resolution, with an emphasis on complex cross-border matters and M&A-related disputes.

She arbitrated under various institutional rules, both in merits proceedings and interim relief proceedings. She has also represented clients in (issues relating to) the enforcement of arbitral awards, such as setting aside proceedings. Marieke served as NAI secretary to a tribunal and spent a short time on secondment in Dubai.

Marieke also has a unique perspective on the financial sector, as she spent over three years as a deputy fines officer at the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets. In this role, she gained in-depth knowledge of the enforcement practices of the authority, as well as the legal and strategic aspects of defending against or challenging such sanctions.
