John specialises in tax planning for multinational business operations with an emphasis on tax structured finance, financial products, securitisations, mergers & acquisitions and corporate restructurings. He advises on all tax aspects of financing transactions including asset-backed and whole business securitisations, loan financing, project financing, CDOs and repackagings.
John has also provided tax advice for a number of PFIs and public-private partnerships. He has extensive experience with setting up employee option plans, share plans and other forms of incentive plans such as management participation plans in private equity transactions. John worked for a number of years in New York, advising US multinationals with respect to organising their European business operations in a tax efficient manner, including contract manufacturing activities, commissionaire structures and European finance and IP companies. As a result of his broad experience, John is able to coordinate various legal activities and to assure the proper translation of specific tax requirements into legal documentation.
