This high-level comparative survey of the legal position relating to force majeure and other similar doctrines analyses the laws across a number of key jurisdictions around the world.

The survey gives a broad overview of some of the principles (both in common law and civil law) which may apply in different jurisdictions to excuse, or suspend, performance obligations under contracts, something that is front of mind for many organisations in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
