Allen & Overy strengthens U.S. Corporate and Life Sciences teams with addition of Nicole Daley

Allen & Overy announces today the addition of Nicole Daley as a partner in its U.S. Corporate and Life Sciences teams, based in the global law firm’s Boston office.

Nicole’s legal expertise covers all stages of the corporate life cycle for privately held and publicly traded life sciences clients. Her work spans the full transactional spectrum, including counseling clients in startup and formation, venture capital, M&A, joint ventures, capital markets, corporate governance, SEC reporting and disclosure, and reorganizations.

“Our firm's position in Boston, the largest biotech market in the U.S. and a key market for M&A, emerging companies, venture capital and private equity, is enhanced by Nicole's impressive skills and insights. We anticipate robust growth in this area in 2024, and are thrilled to have her on board,” said Bill Schwitter, chair of the U.S. Corporate practice at A&O.

Elizabeth Holland, head of A&O’s U.S. Life Sciences and Intellectual Property groups added: “Nicole joins our firm with competitive knowledge and experience in life sciences deals. Her addition to the team strategically aligns with our firm's focus on providing innovative solutions to corporate clients in the dynamic and rapidly evolving life sciences sector.”

I am honored to join A&O at such a pivotal time for the firm and look forward to working with talented colleagues and teams on providing exceptional corporate counsel to life sciences clients

Nicole Daley, A&O partner

Since 2021, A&O has welcomed Elizabeth Holland, Bill James, John Bennett, Nick Mitrokostas, Daniel Margolis and Sapna W. Palla to its U.S. Intellectual Property Litigation practice based in New York, Boston and Washington D.C., all of whom are leaders in the life sciences industry. Nicole’s addition to the team builds on the firm’s efforts to establish a multidisciplinary life sciences offering across the U.S., and to expand its global positioning in the market.

Nicole is the 44th U.S. lateral partner hire for A&O since January 2021. She joins the firm ahead of its upcoming merger with Shearman & Sterling. In October 2023, A&O and Shearman & Sterling partnerships voted overwhelmingly in support of merging to create the first fully integrated global elite law firm, Allen Overy Shearman Sterling (A&O Shearman). The combined firm will have nearly 4,000 lawyers, 49 offices and tally annual revenues of approximately more than $3.4 billion.

Nicole joins from Goodwin Procter LLP, where she was a partner in the firm’s life sciences group. A graduate of Boston College Law School, Nicole is a member of the Boston Bar Association and the Navajo Nation Bar Association. Her pro bono work has earned her the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2023 Excellence in the Law Award, and she serves on the National Women’s Law Center’s Leadership Advisory Committee.
