What we offer
Internship programme
An internship is the best way to experience who we are and how we work. You'll enjoy in-depth practical, hands-on experience while working alongside partners, associates and trainees on real deals and active cases. You'll also attend various in-house workshops and regular training sessions that will make the most of your potential. All while having fun and making friends as part of our supportive global network.The Internship programme runs for three to six months, and we welcome applications all year round.
Training contract (Trainee Associate)
A training contract with us is the best way to equip you for the future, both yours and ours, whatever it may bring. You'll enjoy practical, hands-on experience, working alongside partners, associates and trainees on real deals and active cases around the world. You'll also make the most of client-facing opportunities, workshops and training sessions. The training contract runs for one year, and you can apply in May or November.
Selection process and interview
We expect our people to challenge each other, and the status quo. So you’ll need to be full of energy and ready for anything.
In order to apply, you should have a Law degree from a reputable university. Our application form asks a few questions about you, your work experience, details of your academic transcript, your desire to work as a lawyer, and why you have selected to apply to Allen & Overy.
If you’re successful at this stage, you will be invited for an interview with the HR team and some of our lawyers. During the process, we encourage you to ask questions to get to know us better.
Tips for a successful application
Know your goals
Creating an application that stands out from the crowd can be challenging. Make sure you know what’s required by familiarizing yourself with what skills we look for and prepare some examples to demonstrate your experience of each.
Show a rounded personality
We expect academically successful candidates but your application will stand out if you show that you have experienced life outside the library. Try to demonstrate your responsibilities and your capacity to shape events, committees and outcomes.
Working environment
The office is located in the historical centre of Prague. All major points of interest are within easy walking distance.
The Prague office enjoys convenient dining options and five-star hotel accommodation options on its doorstep while being well-connected to major transport links and public transport systems. The Palladium shopping centre, Letná cultural district or the Old Town Square are just a few steps away.
Knowing there is life beyond work, we also host a number of social events, from our Christmas office party, weekend mountain trip to sporting events such as Pro Bono running or evening hockey matches.
We also offer access to a fitness centre, meal vouchers, and complimentary soft drinks and fruit throughout the day.
