Orla Rodgers

After graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with my LLB in Law, I worked for a couple of different law firms in Switzerland and Dublin, before deciding to take up an opportunity with Allen & Overy in Belfast. Working for Allen & Overy gives me the chance to work alongside and learn from some of the best lawyers in the world, which is invaluable at this early stage of my legal career. Joining Allen & Overy is definitely the best career decision that I have made to date!

I am a team member of Allen & Overy’s In-House Legal team in Belfast, which involves contributing to critical matters concerning the firm and supporting Allen & Overy colleagues across the firm’s network on a daily basis. Since joining the team, I have worked on some of the most complex and interesting strategic projects affecting Allen & Overy, involving various risk management, compliance and corporate secretarial issues. Allen & Overy’s network is truly a global one- each day I am in contact with intelligent and talented colleagues from across the globe, which has definitely developed my legal confidence and solutions-based mind-set.

Our team has a high performance and forward thinking culture, which gives me heightened responsibility in my role and a real sense of achievement at the end of each day. Allen & Overy is also very supportive in relation to my career progression goals.

Allen & Overy’s In-House Legal team in Belfast is at the forefront of the future model of how law firms utilise their in-house lawyers and I am excited to develop my legal career with the firm.
