The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) is a market-led international initiative which builds on the model developed by the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). It aims to create a framework for how organisations can address environmental risks and opportunities, with the ultimate goal of channelling capital flows towards nature-positive outcomes.

Focus on biodiversity loss and ecosystem degradation is increasing. Biodiversity featured in the European Commission Strategy for Financing the Transition, the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) has launched a study into the impact of biodiversity loss on financial stability and we can expect more to come in the lead up to CBD COP15 this October.

One of the key developments in this area is the official launch of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD).  Our article provides more information on what the TNFD is, why it has been established and what it is expected to publish.
