An Allen & Overy team comprising specialists across London and Tokyo has advised Japanese life insurer Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, the third largest life insurer in Japan, as the Series C lead investor on its strategic investment of approximately GBP75 million in UK life insurtech YuLife.
YuLife is a fast growing UK-based insurtech company with a strong focus on digital technology and employee well-being. Dai-ichi Life will continue to enhance its existing businesses through the investment, including developing new life insurance products and services that leverage YuLife’s strengths.
The A&O team was led in the UK by partner and head of A&O’s insurance group, Philip Jarvis, with senior associate Charlotte Rowlandson and associate Georgina Burrow. The Tokyo team was lead by partner Tokutaka Ito and senior associate Tomohiro Terada.
