EPPO – A change in the Belgian settlement practice?

The European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) has been operating for one year now. Its track record is impressive: it has initiated almost 1000 investigations, and has already secured its first convictions. It is however still unclear which practice will be adopted with regard to criminal settlements in EPPO investigations. There are reasons to believe that less settlements will be concluded in such investigations, which may come at a cost.
