A&O advised on award-winning deals across six categories recognised at the KangaNews Awards 2021

Allen & Overy’s Sydney debt capital markets team is proud to have advised on three of the award-winning deals recognised across six categories at the KangaNews Awards 2021.

The team’s award-winning transactions were for Wesfarmers Limited and Macquarie Bank, including:

  • Wesfarmers Limited’s AUD1 billion issuance of the first sustainability-linked bonds issued in Australian dollars in the Australian market, led by partner Karolina Popic, won three awards: Australian Innovative Deal of the Year, Australian Dollar Corporate Bond Deal of the Year and Australian Sustainability Bond Deal of the Year;
  • Wesfarmers Limited’s EUR600 million issuance of its first Euro denominated sustainability-linked bond in the European market, led by partner Minesh Patel won: Australian-Origin Offshore Corporate Bond Deal of the Year; and
  • Macquarie Bank on the issue of 8 billion Puma 2021-2 residential mortgage-backed securities, led by partner Karolina Popic won: Australian RMBS Deal of the Year.
