Viola is Of Counsel in A&O’s Restructuring and Recovery Group. She advises and assists debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, coordinating committees, creditors’ committees, debtors and insolvency practitioners on all aspects of financial restructuring and insolvency cases, and has particular experience in bankruptcy and insolvency litigation. 

Viola has worked on restructurings, insolvencies and workouts in a wide range of industries and jurisdictions. Recent experience includes representing a leading PRC financial institution as a major creditor on the global debt restructuring of a borrower covering US, Cayman, Luxembourg, Italy and Hong Kong, the steering committee of creditors on the successful restructuring of several hundred million USD of offshore debt of a major Chinese conglomerate, bondholders in the standstill negotiation and subsequent proposed restructuring of a HK listed entity through a reverse takeover structure and a major PRC state-owned bank and subsequently the receivers with the security enforcement against a borrower group whose material assets is a major real estate asset in Hong Kong.

Viola is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and is awarded the status and title of SQ (Insolvency) by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
