Paul is a partner in the Asset Finance Department and Head of Allen & Overy’s Aviation Finance Group, which won the Legal House of the Year 2018 at the Global Transport Finance Awards. Paul has acted for Export Credit Agencies (including KEXIM, SACE, Coface, Euler Hermes and ECGD), banks (including Bank of Scotland, BNP Paribas, BTMU, CA CIB, Citibank, DNB, JP Morgan, Natixis, Santander and SMBC), airlines (including British Airways, Iberia, Aeroflot, Czech Airlines, Air Mauritius and Qantas) and operating lessors (including Aldus Aviation, Dubai Aerospace, VEB Leasing and VTB Leasing) across a whole spectrum of aviation finance, shipping, corporate jet and yacht deals, including Export Credit transactions, capital markets transactions, operating leasing, debt financing, engines financing, pre-delivery payment financing, portfolio purchases and sales, Japanese operating leases, securitisations, German KG leases, UK tax leases, Spanish tax operating leases and manufacturer support. Paul was involved in drafting the European Export Credit Agencies’ precedent documentation and has been instrumental in the development of the transportation capital markets industry outside the U.S. in the last seven years.
