Colby’s practice is focused on patent infringement and trade secret matters.

Colby has consistently secured the best possible outcomes for his clients—from rapid case dismissals to highly favorable jury verdicts, arbitration awards, and statements of decision in bench trial matters.

Colby has patent litigation experience before numerous district courts throughout the United States, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has handled multiple patent infringement actions in each of the most common jurisdictions, including Delaware, Texas, California, and New York. Colby also has experience before the major arbitral institutions in the United States, such as the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, Inc. (JAMS). Leveraging his background in biochemistry, Colby has assisted in cases on behalf of some of the world’s largest life sciences and pharmaceuticals companies. He also has substantial experience litigating patents related to laboratory equipment, telecommunications, and more.
