David is co-head of our Global Corporate Practice with over 25 years corporate finance experience in both public and private M&A transactions and a wide range of equity capital markets deals, acting for both issuers and underwriters. David’s client base has a significant focus on financial institutions. He is also head of our UK Equity Capital Markets business.

David is a "market Leader" in IFLR1000 for ECM, and listed as a leading individual in Legal 500 for M&A and ranked in Chambers UK legal directory for both M&A and ECM. 

David receives praise for the quality of his advice in complex M&A and equity capital market transactions. Chambers UK 2021 (M&A).

  • A leading UK consumer business and its banking company on the recapitalisation plan for the banking company which involves a consensual bail in, the first of its kind in the UK, and other capital raising initiatives.
  • HBOS on its GBP4bn rights issue and subsequent acquisition by Lloyds Banking Group and the associated GBP11.5bn placing and open offer.
