Tom leads on the Financial Crime and Compliance business within Consulting at A&O Shearman.

He has over 25 years of experience in financial services, with deep expertise in risk management frameworks and strategies, compliance, financial crime, operational risk, governance, and regulatory relations.

Tom brings a wealth of practical experience to his work with clients, having held both senior regulatory and in-house risk management roles over the course of his career. Previous roles include Head of Wholesale Banks and Investment Firms Supervision at the UK FSA, and in industry, as Group Head of Regulatory Relations at RBS and Chief Compliance Officer at Nationwide Building Society.

Tom has worked extensively with a wide range of financial services, corporate and technology firms to improve their risk management decision making and governance structures, strategies and frameworks, in line with regulatory expectations and requirements.
