Meredith practices in the areas of Corporate, Commercial and Energy and Resources Law and has advised on a wide range of commercial transactions including takeovers, mergers, acquisitions, disposals, capital raisings, joint ventures and mining operational agreements. She has conducted comprehensive compliance and due diligence programs in those areas. Meredith has considerable experience in offshore transactions, having advised on a number of AIM, LSE, TSX and JSE listings and offshore capital raisings. She also advises on acquisitions and raisings by foreign entities in Australia.

Meredith was awarded "Best in Energy & Natural Resources" at the Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards in 2018. She was included in the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining in December 2013 and has been voted by her peers as one of Australia's Best Lawyers for Corporate work and M&A. Meredith has been recognised by Legal 500 Australia as a leading individual within the Energy ranking for the past three years. Legal 500 2019 says Meredith Campion "stands head and shoulders above the rest and is invaluable to clients". Chambers 2019 says Meredith is noted for her expertise in the natural resources sector on cross-border listings. A referee states "She is hard-working, very confident, timely and has very good commercial sense - not just the law but interpreting the commercial issues." Further, it was noted that she "has very good interpersonal skills and is very good in negotiations, with the ability to keep people on the main points and push things forward."

Advising:

  • Total S.A. on its 50:50 joint venture with the Adani Group in relation to certain LNG assets, the establishment of a co-branded retail network of 1,500 service stations and an onshore LNG marketing business in India and the establishment of an offshore LNG marketing business in Singapore through a separate 50:50 joint venture between Total and the Adani Group.
  • A gas and oil company on its USD490m acquisition of 50% of Adani Green Energy Twenty Three Limited (the JV), an Indian entity incorporated by Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) to own a 2G solar portfolio in operation.
  • OreCorp, the ASX listed gold developer, in relation to the acquisition of the Nyanzaga gold project in Tanzania and ASX and Corporation Act compliance.
  • Lighthouse Minerals on its acquisition of 100% of the shares in Birla Mt Gordon, which owns the Mt Gordon copper mine in Queensland, Australia, for approximately AUD55m.
  • Fortescue Metals Group on corporate governance matters.
  • Pirate Life Brewing on its acquisition by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev.
  • Strike Energy on the acquisition of UIL Energy via off-market takeover bid and subsequent AUD13m capital raising and AUD5m share purchase plan.
  • Mitsubishi Materials on its investment in a copper mine in Peru.
  • AIC Resources on the reverse takeover of AIC by Intrepid Mines. The transaction was the first reverse takeover under the new regulatory regime in the ASX Listing Rules, which came into effect on 1 December 2017.
  • Mining, Offtake, Supply and Royalty Agreements
  • OreCorp in relation to gold offtake and royalty financing agreements.

Pro-bono experience

  • Working with Lady Lawley Cottage which provides a day care, residential respite and home support for children with disabilities and their families.
  • Working with the Salvation Army on the Restorative Life Care Programme sessions for The Beacon Homelessness Service.
