Joel is a partner in Allen & Overy's Global Restructuring Group based in London. Since joining the firm in 2007, Joel has worked on a variety of high profile financial restructuring transactions, enforcement and realisation proceedings and in respect of formal insolvency proceedings.

Recently Joel has advised Citibank on the EUR265 million financial restructuring of the Frigoglass group, a commercial refrigeration manufacturer and West Africa's leading glass producer and also advised the senior lenders (acting via the facility agent) of the debt restructuring of Bartec, a German safety equipment manufacturer.

Joel's deals also include advising swap counterparties in structured finance restructurings (including in relation to the Punch Taverns B securitisation), and advising the coordinating committee of lenders on the high profile restructuring of the Stemcor group.
