Godfried specialises in tax law. He serves as the head of the Amsterdam tax department. His practice focuses on advising clients on the tax aspects of real estate transactions, PPP, mergers and acquisitions and other major transactions, including spin-offs, international restructurings and corporate joint ventures. Godfried also works with clients on issues related to corporate finance and domestic and international taxation. He is admitted to the Amsterdam Bar, a member of the Dutch Bar of Tax Advisors and of the Dutch Tax Society. He regularly writes for various publications including Tax Notes International and International Tax Review and he is the editor of the Netherlands chapter in IBFD's M&A publication.

The 2014 edition of Chambers Global describes him as follows: "Department head Godfried Kinnegim covers a range of tax issues linked to transactions and corporate structuring. He is recommended for his experience and client service ethic, with one interviewee noting: 'He is a good technician and negotiator who is always dedicated to his clients'.
