Yvo de Vries



Yvo specialises in antitrust law and EU regulatory law. He has frequently dealt with antitrust investigations before the EU Commission and National Competition Authorities and with antitrust litigation both at a EU and national level.

 Before joining A&O, Yvo was head of antitrust at Philips International. Due to this background he knows how to frame his advice so it is practical and can be used effectively by clients within their company. He has also built up an extensive track record with internal investigations and compliance programs whilst working at Philips. Prior to that he was the head trial lawyer of the Dutch government before the EU Court of Justice. In that capacity he dealt with over 60 cases before the EU Courts, many of which against the EU Commission. He also litigates frequently before the EU Courts and national courts.

In terms of sectors, Yvo has extensive knowledge of medical device markets and medical device regulation, consumer electronics markets and lighting infrastructure.
