Stephan is one of the leading experts in the German market on the structuring of investment funds for institutional investors. He focuses on alternative investments, taking into account insurance supervisory requirements (Investment Ordinance / Anlageverordnung, Solvency II and pertinent accounting requirements). Another focus of his practice are structured products. He is a frequent author of books and articles on these topics.

Before joining Allen & Overy, Stephan worked for leading investment banks for more than 16 years. The focus of his advice was on the support and structuring of transactions with financial instruments from a regulatory, financial and tax perspective as well as on the regulation of insurance and investment funds.
