Simon is a partner in our Projects, Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure group based in New York. He specializes in advising private equity funds and other sponsors in their energy and infrastructure investments in the Americas. Prior to joining A&O, Simon was Deputy General Counsel at an international power generation company.

In addition to his current focus on infrastructure transactions, Simon has broad cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity and capital markets experience.

  • Prostar Capital on its USD250 million acquisition from NuStar Energy LP of the Statia crude oil storage terminal located on the island of St. Eustatius in the Caribbean.
  • Carlyle Infrastructure Partners on the USD8.5bn financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the redevelopment of Terminal 1 at JFK airport.
  • Conrac Solutions LLC on their sale of a 50% interest and joint venture arrangement with The Related Companies.
  • Conrac Solutions Capital LLC in connection with the development and financing of consolidated rental car facilities (CONRAC) at Newark Liberty International Airport. (Americas P3 Deal of the Year – PFI Yearbook 2019)
  • Dutch Infrastructure Fund on the financing of its acquisition of American Roads LLC, an owner of a portfolio of tolled bridges and tunnels in Michigan and Alabama.
  • EQT Infrastructure on its acquisition of Global Gateway South Container Terminal, a container terminal in the Port of Los Angeles, from global shipping line CMA CGM Group.
  • 3i Infrastructure fund on its acquisition of Smarte Carte Inc., a leading concessionaire of airport luggage carts and other services.
  • North Haven Infrastructure Partners as lead equity sponsor in the Altan consortium’s winning bid for the USD7 billion Red Compartida wireless telecommunications network project in Mexico.
  • Hanjin Shipping on its sale of a majority interest in Total Terminals International, a container terminal in Long Beach, California, to Terminals Investment Limited (TIL), in a sale approved pursuant to a Chapter 15 U.S. Bankruptcy Court proceeding.
  • Axium Infrastructure and Engie North America in connection with their successful bid for the Ohio State University's Comprehensive Energy Management Project.
