Shona Shang is an Australian (Victoria), US (New York) and Chinese qualified lawyer.
She has years of experience in practicing in both China and Australia, advising clients in commercial and regulatory aspects of energy and infrastructure projects in Australia, particularly in renewable energy projects. She also has particular experience in advising clients of the mainland of China and Hong Kong (central SOEs in particular) in their outbound investment under China’s Belt and Road Initiative in the energy and infrastructure sphere in Africa and SEA.
Before joining A&O, Shona worked for the Projects team of a leading Chinese law firm’s Hong Kong office. Prior to that, she obtained her LL.M. degree in Environmental Law and Policy at Stanford Law School, with a focus on the study of corporate obligations of climate risk disclosure. She worked for the Projects team of a leading national firm in Australia before her study.
