Samuel is a member of the Amsterdam corporate team, which is recognised as the leading practice in this area in the Netherlands. He is specialised in corporate and securities law and particularly experienced in public and private mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions.

Over the past years Samuel advised Saxo Bank on the public offer for BinckBank, Gemalto on the public takeover by Thales, SHV on its public offer for Nutreco and Advent on its public offer for UNIT4. In addition, Samuel advised Anbang on the sale of VIVAT to Athora, the owners of RFS Holland Holding on their sale of RFS Holland Holding to Apax, RFS Holland Holding on the sale of, Monumental Productions on the sale of Monumental Productions to SFX Entertainment, NCOI on its acquisition of NTI and Brand Loyalty on its 60% acquisition by Alliance Data Systems. Notable capital markets deals include advising Alfen, NIBC, VolkerWessels and Refresco on their IPOs on Euronext Amsterdam.

Samuel also advises listed and non-listed companies on various corporate structuring and governance matters. He has experience in litigation procedures before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal and other corporate governance and transaction related litigation.

In addition to his work at Allen & Overy, Samuel is an external PhD candidate at Erasmus School of Law, where his research focuses on the rights and duties of management boards and shareholders of Dutch listed companies.

In 2018, Samuel won the award for Best Young Talent at the SDU Dutch law firm awards.
