Rachel is an experienced employment lawyer in the full range of contentious and non-contentious matters, having worked as a Senior Associate in private practice, followed by more than 10 years in-house at RBS. She has advised clients across many sectors including financial services, on Employment Tribunal matters, policies, restructures, contracts of employment, employment aspects of acquisitions and disposals as well as discrimination.
At RBS she had responsibility for employment law, policy, and industrial and employee relations across global businesses and provided strategic advisory functions at both group and divisional level advising on cross-border projects, remuneration disputes, high profile regulatory matters, litigation and mediations. She regularly provided advice to the bank’s board on high-profile reputational issues including bonus litigation, the LIBOR investigations and applying clawback under the group’s deferral plan.
Rachel has also worked as a Peerpoint consultant with Allen & Overy providing in-house legal support on partnership matters, conducting bespoke employment law training to clients of the Employment team and advising on the implementation of the SMCR at HSBC, amongst other consultancy assignments. Most recently, Rachel worked in the public sector as HR Director at the Ministry of Justice with responsibility for Employee Relations, Policy and Reward.
