Contact details
Peter specialises in intellectual property rights, information technology and data protection, and has a particular focus on the interface of IP law and technology.
He assists both global and local clients in strategic transactional matters, including license agreements, R&D agreements, collaboration agreements and outsourcing transactions, as well as in multi-jurisdictional strategic GDPR projects. In addition, Peter has more than 20 years’ experience of representing clients in IP litigation cases (including patent, trademark, copyright and design infringement proceedings), having been involved in several high-profile landmark IP cases.
Peter's views are often sought by Belgian and international press on various topics and trends in his area of expertise. He is a frequent speaker at Belgian and international conferences on related topics such as technology law, GDPR, blockchain, AI and IP transactions, and has lectured on IP and marketing law at the KULeuven University since 2006.

Assisting a global pharmaceutical and healthcare company in a cross-jurisdictional patent litigation (including preliminary injunction proceedings) against a competitor in relation to an alleged infringement of patent and trade secret rights.

- Advising a large international humanitarian organisation on the contractual and data protection aspects in relation to the development of, and the terms and conditions used for, an app.
- Advising a European non-profit organisation which deals with missing children in relation to various matters, including a dispute with a software supplier relating to an app for migrant children.
- Advising a charity organisation which provides supplementary education to children from disadvantaged neighbourhoods in relation to achieving compliance with the GDPR, including in relation to the organisation’s mailing databases.
