Paweł Bartosiewicz, Ph.D. is an attorney-at-law with over ten years of professional experience. He specialises in financial indebtedness restructuring and insolvency risk management. He has represented debtors (undertakings), investors interested in acquiring debtors or its assets, and creditors (Banks and other key counterparties) in restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings. Paweł has, in these matters, acted as, among others, the President of the Creditors Council at more than 100 meetings. He has also advised clients on transactions perceived as alternatives to court restructurings, eg standstill agreements, multi-lateral restructuring agreements and other types of settlements and accords.

Paweł graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. He also holds a Diploma in an Introduction to English and European Union Law from the University of Cambridge. In 2016 he defended his doctoral dissertation regarding court disputes between financial institutions and their corporate clients, which won a prize for the Best Financial Markets Doctoral Dissertations (awarded by the Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority) and was published by Wolters Kluwer. He is a laureate (top 5) of “Rising Stars Lawyers – Leaders of Tomorrow”, a contest organised by “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”, and is the author of publications regarding Polish insolvency proceedings, out-of-court restructurings and banking law. Paweł is a member of INSOL International, a worldwide federation of national associations for accountants and lawyers who specialise in turnaround and insolvency.
