Massimo was appointed partner in Allen & Overy in 1998 and he was head of the Italian Litigation and Arbitration practice for ten years. He has more than 35 years' experience of advising on civil, corporate, commercial and financial disputes as well as regulatory disputes brought by the Italian financial and regulatory authorities and investigations with criminal aspects.

He is currently assisting financial institutions on cases brought by Italian local authorities and fines issued by Consob and the Bank of Italy. He also keeps assisting domestic and international banks on different claims arising from derivatives contracts. Massimo also has considerable experience in regulatory arbitration matters (ICC Arbitration, Arbitration Rules of the Milan Chamber of Arbitration) particularly in corporate and commercial disputes.

In 2022 Massimo won as individual and as head of the team three awards: “Corporate Investigations Lawyer of the Year” at the Italian Legalcommunity Corporate Awards June 2022.

Massimo is highly regarded by the leading international legal directories and he is listed in the “Hall of Fame” of Italian Litigation Lawyers by Legal 500 and ranked Band 2 by Chambers and Partners.
