Marta advises on a wide range of public law and regulatory matters including energy, environmental, transports and infrastructures, public procurement, zoning and planning, telecommunications, and other regulated sectors in Spain.

She advises national and international companies in domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, merger and acquisitions, due diligence processes and project finance regarding regulatory matters and regulated sectors industries.

She also advises on all kinds of administrative proceedings (regulatory approvals, administrative appeals, sanctioning proceedings, etc.) and judicial proceedings (contentious-administrative appeals, cassation appeals, etc.) and acts for clients before judges and courts (including the Supreme Court) in administrative and regulatory matters.

Sandfire Resources Limited on its acquisition and funding of the Minas de Aguas Teñidas S.A. (MATSA) mining complex from Mubadala Investment Company (50%) and Trafigura (50%) for USD1.865bn. This transaction won Deal of the Year in the 2022 MNN Awards.

Bruc Opt Energy Partners, S.L. on recurring acquisitions from Ingeniería y Planificación Sostenible, S.L.U. of photovoltaic projects in Spain with a total capacity of 1.2 GW.

Abertis Infraestructuras S.A. on the acquisition of the Autovía del Camino, S.A.U. shadow toll highway concession in Spain.

Crea Madrid Nuevo Norte, S.A. (before, Distrito Castellana Norte) on contentious administrative proceedings before the courts in relation to the largest urban regeneration Project in Europe (i.e. Operación Chamartín).

Pro bono

Advising a NGO focused on helping young people at risk of exclusion to access the labour market on the denial of public subsidies.

Preparing an advocacy toolkit covering the administrative, legislative and judicial tools that could be used by citizens in Spain to influence public policy and improve democratic participation.

Preparing a tool for Ukrainian citizens with combined information on legal aspects of entry to different jurisdictions in Europe.

Contribution to different actions as part of A&O’s Mental Health Allies programme.
