Marc Teasdale joined A&O Consulting as a Managing Director on 1 September 2021. He has over 20 years of experience at the Financial Conduct Authority and predecessor organisations, where he was most recently Director of Wholesale Supervision.
Marc is a highly experienced ex-regulator, and has spent the last 4 years as the Director of Wholesale Supervision where he set and oversaw the execution of supervision strategies for the largest institutions in the investment banking, asset management, custody banking, wholesale broking, trading firm and exchange sectors. Prior to that he was the Director of Market Oversight, responsible for the FCA’s oversight of primary and secondary markets. Marc was also the Sponsor for the FCA’s implementation of MIFID II.
He has extensive experience with the C-suite leadership and Boards of the largest financial services institutions in wholesale markets, including in relation to significant regulatory change matters.
Marc was responsible for the supervision priorities for multiple wholesale sectors, including wholesale banks, wholesale brokers, principal trading firms and asset management firms. He had oversight of key operational and regulatory risks, issues and decision-making, including MIFID II implementation, LIBOR transition, Brexit readiness, and most recently the response to the COVID pandemic.
