Louise advises leading banks, investment firms, fintech companies and electronic money and payment institutions on financial services law and regulation.

One of Louise’s areas of particular focus is advising on environmental, social and governance (ESG) and green finance law and regulation and she regularly speaks at client seminars on such matters. Her experience includes advising a major international bank on the application and impact of the EU’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and the current UK regime.

Louise has also advised banks on major structural reform projects including regarding M&A transactions, Brexit planning, ring-fencing, operational continuity, outsourcing, the distribution of products and services and impact of Covid-19. She has also advised clients on obtaining regulatory licences in the UK and EU, including new branch authorisations and AML requirements.

Louise’s fintech experience includes being the lead associate advising on the setting up of a new global payment system and drafting the Rulebook and participation documents. She has also advised on several initial coin offerings (ICOs) and the law and regulation applying to payment services, electronic money and cryptocurrency. She has represented a client in meetings with the FCA and HM Treasury regarding the safeguarding of funds under PSD2.
