Kate advises on the employment and remuneration aspects of international transactions, as well as on stand-alone employment advisory and contentious employment matters. 

She helps clients to navigate employment issues arising in connection with public and private mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and IPO preparation. Kate has significant experience advising post-transaction integration matters and on board changes. 

Kate has been seconded to two investment banks and supports a number of financial services clients on sensitive employment and remuneration issues, including regarding the Senior Managers and Certification Regime and the remuneration codes. Kate advises on the employment aspects of operating within the regulatory environment, including whistleblowing arrangements, investigating employee misconduct and applying malus and clawback to employee compensation. 

Kate also advises on Employment Tribunal claims, business reorganisations, executive remuneration issues, corporate governance and senior hiring and departures.

Kate sits on the Employment Lawyers Association’s (ELA) City Regulation Committee and has recently been involved in contributing to ELA’s responses to the UK government’s consultation on “Rebuilding Trust in Audit and Corporate Governance” and the FCA and PRA’s discussion paper “Diversity and Inclusion in the Financial Sector”. Kate was also part of an invited panel of employment lawyers who were consulted by the Banking Standards Board (now the Financial Services Culture Board) regarding its good practice guidance on regulatory references.
