Senior Counsel/US Know How
Karen is the Senior Counsel for US Know How. Karen advises A&O’s lawyers and clients on a broad range of transactional law issues, specializing in banking and finance. As part of her role she serves as the liaison to the firm’s legal technology and advanced delivery and solutions groups, which includes advising US lawyers and clients on various legal technology solutions. Karen is also a member of A&O’s Markets Innovation Group, a group of lawyers and developers who are focused on the creation of innovative solutions for clients to meet large-scale legal and regulatory challenges. As part of those efforts, Karen is a core member of the firm’s cross-border working group focused on helping clients navigate and prepare for the impact and implications of a transition away from LIBOR.
Her expertise includes extensive knowledge and use of various types of legal technologies, including artificial intelligence, document automation and deal management platforms. Her legal background covers the full spectrum of secured and unsecured corporate debt finance as well as other transaction matters. Karen also analyzes the implications of legal developments for the U.S. banking practice, designs and implements systems and work flows to allow our lawyers to practice more efficiently and delivers training to the firm’s lawyers and clients. Previously, Karen worked as a Knowledge Management Attorney and practiced as a transactional lawyer for more than 10 years in U.S. bank lending, high yield bonds and mergers and acquisitions. Karen is admitted to practice in New york and received a BS from Fordham University and her JD from Fordham University School of Law.
