Joost specialises in complex litigation, and has more than 25 years of trial experience. He has a particular interest in white-collar crime, and heads the Belgian White-collar Crime and Investigations team. He advises clients on criminal risks, investigations and compliance, acting for both defendants and claimants in criminal proceedings and in negotiations with prosecutors.
In addition to his client work, Joost has held various lectures on developments in white-collar crime, investigations and compliance issues (in Belgium and abroad).
Throughout the years, Joost has won plaudits from leading independent legal directories for his ability to combine his commercial understanding with his legal expertise. He is consistently ranked as one of the leading white collar specialists in Belgium by Legal 500, the main international legal directory tracking white collar practices, and is ranked as a Tier 1 litigator by Chambers.
