John advises on a broad range of financial regulatory matters, including banking and investment services, financial market infrastructure, payments and fintech.
He has experience of licensing issues, ensuring compliance with prudential and conduct rules, as well as transactional mandates. A large amount of John's time has recently been spent supporting clients with the consequences of Brexit and the ongoing changes to the UK's regulatory framework.
During 2021, John was seconded to a leading universal bank, to assist with their recovery and resolution planning.
Before joining Allen & Overy, John trained and practised at another leading City firm. He has also worked as in-house counsel at the Bank of England, supporting their resolution and FMI supervisory functions.
