Joanne specialises in consumer finance and retail banking regulation, with a particular focus on the UK Consumer Credit Act 1974 and the Consumer Credit sourcebook of the FCA handbook. Prior to joining Allen & Overy Joanne was the UK Head of Legal for a U.S. based financial services and consumer credit group.

Joanne's expertise covers a wide range of retail finance products including loans, credit cards, overdrafts and motor finance products and her advisory work covers all aspects of the client's interaction with its consumers (such as financial promotions, credit agreement drafting and origination, post-contractual obligations and debt collection). She also advises on the FCA authorisation of consumer credit regulated firms.

In addition to her advisory work Joanne also advises retail banking and consumer finance clients on consumer credit related transactional matters in the course of securitisations, M&A (including loan portfolio sales) and IPOs.
