Helen Coleman

Her experience spans various areas of US and European regulation, including data protection, cyber and physical security, depositor protection, recovery and resolution, and stress testing.

Prior to joining A&O, Helen was part of a team performing an end-to-end review of a Global Tier 1 Bank’s compliance with the EU Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGSD) and supporting local legislation. Subsequent to this, she completed a year secondment at the client’s request to support their remediation programme across Europe, which included establishing and documenting key controls across all in-scope business lines and functions.

Examples of other mandates delivered include GDPR readiness and post-implementation reviews for a range of clients, the creation of QA desktop procedures in relation to a major US Bank’s CCAR FR Y-14A submission to the Federal Reserve Bank, and supporting the Global Privacy Office of a global payments technology company to conduct Privacy Impact Assessment’s across their products and services, in order to identify any control deficiencies and improvement opportunities.

Helen is also an experienced, PRINCE2 certified, project / programme manager. For example, she managed a 5-year supplier security assurance programme and ran the PMO function for an EEA-wide regulatory-driven implementation programme.
