Filipa is a senior associate in our banking and projects team based in Madrid. She has a wide range of experience in project finance transactions, including advising export credit agencies, development finance institutions, syndicate lenders, sponsors and project companies on Energy (including LNG), Natural Resources and Infrastructure projects in Africa, Europe and Asia.
Filipa is a Portuguese native speaker and developed particular expertise on emerging market projects and financings in African and Lusophone markets.
She also has experience advising on procurement documentation and negotiating PPPs, concession agreements and sovereign guarantees.
Filipa was on secondment at the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for a year and worked closely with the JBIC team on a number of projects and financings in Africa, Southeast Asia and Central Asia.
She has relocated to Madrid from the firm’s Tokyo office. She was previously in our Johannesburg office and Dubai office. Before joining A&O she worked in Portugal and opened a Portuguese law firm’s office (VdA) in Timor-Leste, became the country manager for that office and advised clients investing in the upcoming PPP market.
Filipa is a Portuguese native speaker and fluent in English.
