Elena focuses her practice on government civil and criminal regulatory investigations as well as commercial litigation matters.
She has experience representing companies and individuals in securities and wire fraud cases, as well as advising on large-scale internal investigations and responding to inquiries and subpoenas from the CFTC and SEC. Elena has also worked on matters involving crypto and digital assets, including litigation and regulatory issues arising from token sales, trading platforms, and blockchain technology. Elena has a strong background in the financial services and technology sectors. She also has experience in civil litigation, including research, deposition preparation, and motion drafting. In addition, as a member of the Political Law Group, Elena counsels clients on campaign finance laws, lobbying regulations, gifts and entertainment, pay-to-play issues, revolving door restrictions, and placement agent regulations.

Elena is an active member of A&O Shearman’s pro bono community. She has over 500 hours of pro bono experience:
advising asylum seekers on their rights, drafting asylum applications, and representing clients in asylum interviews;
representing clients in criminal actions brought against them by the Southern District of New York;
advise clients on the formation of U.S. non-profit entities, including drafting by-laws and corporate policies, and research into intellectual property and defamation issues;
