David Hubbard successfully represents technology companies in all aspects of intellectual property, technology and privacy-related matters. His practice focuses on IP litigation matters across the country in district courts, the United States International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

His litigation experience covers a variety of technologies, including medical devices, databases, software, social networks, mobile devices, semiconductors, IoT (Internet of Thing) devices, power transfer systems, aerospace designs, acoustic systems, wireless technology and computer hardware. Leading technological innovators trust David to handle contentious matters for their most valued IP assets.

David has a background in electrical and mechanical engineering that has served him well in patent, trademark, copyright and data privacy matters involving software and hardware, including for the electronic, financial and healthcare industries. In addition to litigation matters, David provides strategic commercial advice to leading companies and has significant experience with IP and diligence investigations in the context of analyzing complex commercial and technology-related aspects of corporate transactions.

Prior to his litigation work, David has previously spent several years preparing and prosecuting patents for cutting-edge multinational companies. Through this, David developed a far-reaching understanding of modern technology, but also the important role it plays in licensing and settlement negotiations as well as the development of a tailored business strategy for protecting an IP portfolio. David has successfully applied what he has learned to provide clients with high-level litigation advice that fits the needs and goals of each client.

David’s over-arching goal across his practice is to help innovators grow and maintain their competitive edge with minimal IP risk.
