He has represented global financial services and technology companies in litigation involving multiple patents. In addition, CJ has drafted invalidity contentions, non-infringement opinions, and claim construction briefs for his clients during patent litigation.
Prior to working as a litigation associate, he has helped build and manage patent portfolios having defensive and monetization value for Fortune 50 technology companies in wide range of technology areas including AI/ML, Internet of Things (IoT), smart phone applications, autonomous vehicles, computer networks, and network attached storage devices.
On a regular basis, CJ provides counseling related to usage of open-source, managed IP due diligence for M&A deals, and drafted and negotiated commercial agreements for technology transactions.
CJ previously served as a Law Clerk and as an Associate at another national Am-Law 50 law firm and worked in-house as an intellectual property specialist at a large technology company. He is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with limited recognition under 37 CFR 11.9(b). CJ is also a co-inventor of an issued U.S. Patent.
