Adam specialises in banking, project and structured finance and restructurings. He has broad experience in project financing transactions and has advised project sponsors, lenders and export credit agencies on power, infrastructure, telecommunications, energy and water projects in the Middle East, Russia, South America and in numerous countries throughout Asia.

He is also experienced in acting for debtors and creditors for debt restructurings and acting for lenders and borrowers in general banking, structured and acquisition finance transactions. Adam relocated to head Allen & Overy's practice in Vietnam after having spent 15 years with the firm in Hong Kong and Tokyo.

  • Sumitomo Corporation and other sponsors on all aspects of the development of the Van Phong 1 IPP in Vietnam.
  • JBIC, NEXI, KEXIM and other lenders on the financing of the USD9bn Nghi Son Refinery, the largest refinery project and one of the largest project financings in Vietnam to date.
  • Various lenders, developers and sponsors in relation to wind, solar and hyropower projects in Vietnam, including advising ADB and the Thai commercial lenders on the financing of the first large-scale international project finance transaction for a renewables project in Vietnam (a 50MW utility-scale solar power plant and transmission line in Thanh Thanh Cong Industrial Zone) and the sponsors on the development and financing of a 3X48MW wind farm portfolio in Quang Tri province.
  • K-EXIM, K-SURE and other lenders on financing the PT Krakatau POSCO integrated steel project in Indonesia.
  • JBIC, KEXIM and other lenders in connection with the Taweelah B IWPP in the UAE, two bids for the Marafiq IWPP in Saudi Arabia, the Shuqaiq IWPP in Saudi Arabia, the Mesaieed IPP in Qatar and the Neyveli Power project in Tamil Nadu, India.
  • Mitsui & Co., as developer and EPC contractor on the gas -fired Ras Laffan C IWPP in Qatar.
  • JBIC and other lenders on the GUT Rojana power project in Thailand.
  • The Lenders on the financing of the acquisition of geothermal power assets in Indonesia.
  • JBIC and other lenders on financing the Al Ghubrah water project, Oman.
  • Mitsubishi Materials on the development and financing of copper mines in Canada and Peru.
