In April, to mark the retirement of David Smith, former special adviser to A&O and Deputy Commissioner at the UK ICO, we assembled a panel of prominent practitioners to host a webinar looking at the evolution of data protection and what we can expect to come.
Our panel was chaired by David Smith and included experts from Nokia, 11KBW, Lloyds Banking Group and News UK.
The panel looked back at some of the key milestone moments for data protection to date and then considered what the future holds.
How will data protection evolve? What are the challenges, risk and opportunities that might be seen in the context of new technologies, increasing personalisation and consumer focused data processing, changing business models and ways of working, political and societal developments? What can be expected from the ever developing regulatory and legal landscape?
