The FCA’s new Consumer Duty comes into force next year, bringing with it a new Principle for Businesses and a new Individual Conduct Rule.

While the FCA is still consulting on “clarificatory amendments”, we have prepared a quick-reference overview of the new duty covering: what it is, how it applies, what the regulatory expectations are, individual accountability considerations, enforcement risks and action to be taken by firms and individuals, now and in the near future.
